I should have come back and posted an update. There were a few unknowns that caused me to ask the dealer to install the replacement parts. There is a spring with a lot of tension that I was not certain I could disengage/re-engage. Also, the mechanism is half buried by the seat covers. I did not see hog rings like on an 850, which I have experience with. Interestingly, the dealer suggested they may not have fixed the issue, since the parts removed did not appear deformed. However, the replacement did in fact have the desired outcome - no more play in the seat. I am getting older and not as adventurous as I once was. Also have more $$$ in the bank. I like to do my own work, but when I had the seat out to assess the job, I was surprised that it looked more complicated than the diagrams suggest.
