$60 to $120 depends on who rips you off.volvrow wrote:What is a normal price range to get a four wheel alignment in U.S. dollars?
With no problems, (nothing bent, etc.) it's a 1/2 hour or so job
If one side is sagging lower than the other, it can put the tracking of the wheels out, and therefore pull to one side or another, as it was explained to me. I was told more than once that its always a good idea to get an alignment done after replacing struts just for that reason.JRL wrote:Gee, ya think?srnkanator wrote:Done a bounce test on your struts/shocks? You have more problems than that.Maxbaby wrote:If one side is sagging lower than the other, it can put the tracking of the wheels out, and therefore pull to one side or another, as it was explained to me. Agreed, but it's all part and parcel of a strut problem, and if the spring has gone, you'll be doing the strut cartridge as well.JRL wrote:You have more problems than that.Maxbaby wrote:If one side is sagging lower than the other, it can put the tracking of the wheels out, and therefore pull to one side or another, as it was explained to me. The SPRING is what hold a car up, not the strut unless the strut has nothing left in it whatsoever, by that point you should be really feeling it
Yeah, well at 200K miles you should be rebuilding the ENTIRE suspension regardless...Maxbaby wrote:

Really, the entire suspension needs rebuilding unless you have some new stuff in there.Maxbaby wrote: In any event, checking the suspension would be a good start of assessing where the alignment problems might be.
Wouldn't that be nice, however I don't think most people can afford the entire suspension, so they look to replace what is needed at a particular time. That's why they come to this forum, for some positive direction and encouragement. Hopefully this dialogue has given a few places for Black850 to have a look to see where to concentrate...JRL wrote:Really, the entire suspension needs rebuilding unless you have some new stuff in there.Maxbaby wrote: In any event, checking the suspension would be a good start of assessing where the alignment problems might be.
It will be a brand new car (again)!
