Need a 3rd row seat, 97 Volvo 850 GLT

Thanks for your posts guys, I have been a lurker only until recently...

The guys want $800 AU for the change over including all fitting, (but the colour doesn't match our upholstery) and the previous owner mounted the Volvo CD stacker under the timber Spare tyre cover (which is apparently non-standard...?)

Is it a fairly easy process to fit the 7 seat mod? If so, are ther any guides online anyone knows of?

I have a third row in my '94 850. I do not need it at all so if anyone is interested I can exchange it for parts needed to replace it plus reasonable offer. It is in tan leather (vinyl?)

I also have the complete shebang in my 1999 V70 that I would be willing to sell. It is Tan and has the extra padded seat cover too. I would need all the non-3rd seat items trims, etc. to replace mine with though. Make me an offer. I am north of Spokane, WA

I hope gwoiler and volvobeginner won't be mad at me for suggesting this but a 3rd seat is a terrific junkyard part because usually they are in great shape. If you live in a big city like Salt Lake then you may even have a 'pull your own parts' yard where the parts in K.C. anyway are really cheap. I have not seen 850s unfortunately the couple of times I have been out there but lots of parts for my 760.

The self help yards here don't have in inventory list so it can be a crap shoot.

Regarding the regular yards, just start calling around and one of them will know who has Volvos.

I think the rear seats are vinyl and you could get spray on die called Mar-Hyde and it really sticks with a good prep...

Oh no, I think I hear incoming tomatoes...

Hey GDavid, love that photo of Australia. Is that a rock formation or a sculpture of some sort? Great to hear from Down Under.

I thought I read before on this thread that 3rd row is hard to get so I was only trying to help. Not for the sake of making money or something

I'll buy it as long as you have all the parts, (belts, hardware, etc).

Have you thought about the fact that you will need to get the two rear floor panels (without the seat attached to it)?
Easy to get, junkyard as they're almost always in good condition

I have all the parts since it was and still is originally installed and in working condition. And yes I did think about the fact that I will need panels to replace those with seats attached to it. I'll stop by at my friendly Volvo shop/junkyard and ask them about replacement panels.

I'll give you heads up tomorrow or Friday. I can't wait to get to use the area under panels for stowing small staff like you would usually have in various compartments in your car but 850 is missing…

I'm curious if you tried a junkyard with any success.
