You can time it and get the feel for your internet connection but Murphy's law will strike and you will not bid on time. There is always a glitch. But if doing it manual like you did... I would place my final bid at 20 seconds unless I knew I had a reliable connection. But make sure you are at the last screen! :) And make sure your ebay is not going to time out on you either. That got me once.

I had done some practice runs just adding the minimum to see how quick the system was responding but I would imagine if 2 or three bids came in at the same time at the last few seconds it could delay the bid. I was set on the last screen with the last key to hit...

Anyway, my brother who does alot of Ebay stuff says he hits it at 10 seconds and hasn't lost. Seems like 20 seconds is too much time but maybe dial up would require that.

Can you explain the sniping program and how you get it ? Thanks in advance... :D

Buying on ebay? I bought my '01 V70 T5 from Lighthouse, I found him on ebay, but drove down to his facility. Looked at three cars, test drove and then bought. There was no warranty, so I did put another few grand in the car, thermostat, alternator and starter. I would hesitate to buy a car on ebay, unless it was from a dealer, or I could travel to see it first. BTW, I love my T5, I already put BBS Forged 17", Vredestein Sessanta Tires, and Bilstein suspension and an iPod adaptor.

I bought a '94 850 wagon last Christmas from a private owner. Great car!! It had been maintained well, he suggested replacing the fuel pump relay and fuel filter. I ordered the parts and had them shipped to him. He had his mechanic install them.

He was very helpful and responsive to the needs of doing a long distance purchase sight unseen. Extremely so. it was his wife's car, and since they bought another one the one they sold was in the driveway and they wanted it gone.

Bought a one way ticket to Cleveland, he met me at the airport with the car, and I drove it home.

All in all, a great deal. Couldn't have been better.
