I was talking to dude again today. There is all kinds of info about different setups online. Some kits are almost $1000, plans start around $50, youtube videos are free. HHO, Brown's gas, water-cars, it's all there for the reading.

Anyway I was talking to dude about his setup. He uses a fuel injection management system that he found the plans for, ready for this, online. Also he has the O2 sensor wrapped in aluminum foil and installed in the original location. I was showing him some videos, (look up "HHO INOX" and you will find the vids I'm talking about), and his response was that his was nowhere near as sophisticated. He get's his HHO out of a mason jar with the plates made from scrap metal. He experimented with multiple plate configurations. Once while testing the output (with a match) the whole damn thing blew up and singed his cat's fur. Now his wife makes him mess around with it outside and not in the house.

I know I'm not really answering anyone's questions but you can watch the videos online as easy as me. The one INOX video he instructs how to make wire coils instead of using plates. I'm going to start messing around with making a HHO device myself. Even if it never makes it into the S70 I can at least use it as a flame welder.

Why would he want to wrap the O2 sensor in foil?! There are lots of circuits available to modify the O2 signal, but wrapping the sensor in foil would give you an extreme delay, which would hurt both power and mileage! Is there something I'm missing here?

Seemed like the foil will work if need be. But having a fuel injection manager is preferred. He just has both. He was oblivious to all of this info online and was just messing around seeing what works.

Here's a good link for those wanting to learn more about hydrogen boost systems.

I built a hydrogen generator from plans from h20gas. It is easy, and does produce the brown gas. With simple mods to a vacumn line and the airbox- so I have 2 gas intakes. I do 1500 miles per week, so I can give empirical data shortly. From the info I found, the cars before 1990 - carborated engines have greater gains because of the inefficiency of them.

Did you do this with your '96 850? If so, how did you trick the 02 sensor and where did you feed the gas line into the intake?

MIJ, I did install this on the 850. I put a t in a vacumn line which is one input, the other (I meant gas - the hydrogen gas) went into the top half of the air cleaner with a 1/2" threaded brass to 1/4 vacumn nipple, which I threaded and secured with a tapered nut and goop.
Common sense leads me to think you would have better effect with a non turbo- less tube travel. The thing about wrapping the o2 sensor has to do with tricking the system for the air ratio mix.
P.S. outlaw6bob The construction I used was with a plexglass core with an .041" solid 316L stainless steel wire which you braid. It makes up 2 electrodes that wrap around the fiberglass core and secure with goop and holes. THE ELECTROLISIS action is very corrosive to copper or galvanized metals.

Please keep us informed...would love so see a write-up, some pictures, etc. and how much better mpg's, etc. I may not do this on the S or V 70's but very interested in doing this on the 240.

Hello, I drive 1500 miles per week and have been using this home built system. It has increased my mileage 3-5 MPG. But.......
I theorize that on a non turbo it will be more effective due to decreased tube travel, in non turbo models. It does produce hydrogen gas, that can be burned. I see the increase of water - by product out my tailpipe. In my '96 there is very little room to mount the system. it is only a mason jar, I placed it on the passengers side next to the power steering pump. It is supposed to be cool. this spot is not cool, but there is no other space. With the heat, the water evaporates within a week. I think it is a benefit for high mileage folks. it comes out to a 16% increase in mileage. I have not done any other mods for this. I theorize older cars will have a major benefit. You have to consider the expense, - $25 for the mod. I found there is little room to place the canister upright in my engine compartment.
I also have an increase in rough idle at start up, this could be due to the hydrogen or water vapor.
