Re: S70 Power Steering Fluid: Type F or Dextron/Mercon?

Ive used Generic power steering fluid, and Dexron VI ATF in my 1999, all with many miles and no ill effects.

My 2005 has Pentosin.

Remember the PS system changed for the 1999-2000 'bastards' with the reservoir sitting near the coolant reservoir and being plumbed to the pump vs sitting on top of it.

I have a "bastard" myself and was lucky enough to score 3 liters of the pentosin gratis before I replaced my steering rack last year from a friend who sold their mini cooper and was going to throw their stash away. Needless to say, being free, that's what I refilled the system with after flushing the lines and buttoning up. I wanted to mention also, (though I haven't used it) RM European sells FEBI Bilstein's version of chf 11s for around $10 a litre. Might be a good alternative going forward.
Always first off the line, while all the cool people are still staring at their phones.
