2001 Volvo S40 Turbo MAF Replaced Doesn't fix stalling
Re: 2001 Volvo S40 Turbo MAF Replaced Doesn't fix stalling
Are you talking about the oxygen sensors, if so they were both replaced not that long ago, but as a follow up to my previous issue, the day before yesterday took out the Volvo to pick up my sisters, car started to hesitate and I could smell gas. Went right home only drove about 2 miles total. White smoke was coming out from under the hood. Popped the hood and a waterfall of gas was dripping from the pad the covers the inside of the hood. Very afraid it was going to go up in flames. When my daughter came home I had her look at the engine and I turned the key. Gas was shooting out about 2 feet into the air from the newly installed Fuel Pressure Regulator. Had the car towed back to the dealer and they replaced the part and I had them replace the liner inside the hood, because it was saturated with gas. Picked up last night and looked at gas gauge, car was on empty. I had filled the car up the morning of the incident. 10 gallons of gas gone! I am billing the dealer for this and the tow cost to me, (used my AAA but they charge for extra mileage) They never said exactly what went wrong with the first regulator they installed. Hope this is the end of this. Thanks. Beth
