240 DL 1989 Alternator replacement

I am having the same problem with the same bolt! Do you have a diagram of the part you ended up removing instead? I think I might have to go that same route but I'm not sure exactly what you removed and don't want to go blindly dismantling.

In then end, I realized that my wrenches had handels that were too long and I had to take it to a mechanic. Boo.

I have 1992 240 GL replaced voltage regulator after having battery shatter an alternator testing good yet still not charging battery. Could the regulator been put in wrong? Please I need help. Thanx

A good advice to anyone changing the alternator, make sure you change your belts, and alternator bushings. I thught my alt was shot, but it happened to be the busshings, which will cause the belt to be uneven and not fully charge your battery. I chose the Poly bushings, because it will not give any, I mean any play.
