Heater core coupler, how to remove??

I see the torx screw. I can take that one out. I am talking about removing and replacing the plastic coupler on the firewall, where the 2 silver pipes go in. Once those 2 silver pipes are detached from the heater core end and the gas pedal removed, can the black coupler plastic piece slide over to left to clear the evaporator casing (big white box), or does the evaporator casing need to be removed or lifted up?
