Rear Seatbelt Light?

The bulb is behind the lighter and the light travels along a lighting track, used quite a lot by Volvo, to the ashtray. You can probably see the end of the track in the ash tray.

There is a plastic trim on the front of the lighter which pops off quite easily. Pull the lighter element out of the dash, put your finger just into the hole and you should be able to pull the trim off. This exposes 2 screws. Remove them. The lighter housing and the tray it sits in will come out.

My '94 960 must be different for some strange reason. My cigarette lighter does not pop out. The only way for me to access the bulbs in the ashtray and the cigarette lighter is to pull the radio out and reach in behind and pull the bulbs out. And there are indeed two bulbs...one for the lighter and the other for the ashtray. They are strange bulbs so hopefully Volvo still carries them. I just hope I can put them back in as it is a tight space and cannot see behind the console. I guess I have to feel around. Anyways, thanks again.
