+1 on the XC90 spring seats (OEM only) and avoid aftermarket strut bearings like the plague. A used set of strut bearings out of a junkyard will last longer than the aftermarket crap.

The XC90 spring seats are much beefier but they fit the 850s and S/V series just fine.

If you have Nivomats you will also need to change the rear springs if you put in standard shocks. A call to Lucky at IPD will point you in the right direction - he has forgotten more about Volvo suspensions than most of us will ever learn.

Too much misinformation here
Like I said on XC.com
(This man has an XC)
Stay with OEM Sachs front struts.
Use either IPD HD or Volvo XC90 spring seats only and inspect everything else while apart
DO NOT USE AFTERMARKET FRONT SUSPENSION PARTS except struts and/or the IPD spring seats (if desired), but those Bilsteins will not match up well to the OEM Nivomats on the rear.
Front end will be stiff, rear end will be soft
