Before you throw the money at the CPS take a look at the proximity of both the cam and crank position sensor signal wires to the ignition wires. Volvo had a TSB that called for using a zip tie to fold the sensor wires away from the coil or plug wires. Any of the ignition wires can cause interference to the sensor signals back to the ECU and when the ECU gets confused enough it just quits.
In their natural state both of the sensor wires loop up right around the base of the distributor.
I temper that advice with the length of your upcoming road trip and getting stranded in unknown territory usually sucks.
If the sensor wire(s) are up next to any ignition wire try to fold them away. If the sensor wires are an inch or so away right now then it is likely new sensor time.
