battery losing charge

Your problem is deffinately the door switch,these switches have two connections,one for the interior lights and one for the door chime,you can disconnect the door switch,but make sure the spades do not touch the body(tape 'em up) or unplug the chime,you will find it easily (just listen)if it is in a fixed relay block,then pull it,if it's the loose type,just remove the + wire.
Just for curiousity,I connected one of these door chimes in parrallel with the reversing lights,so it beeps when you are backing up (usefull)
