Check the water pump before you condemn the car.
Also look hard for seepage around where the hoses slip over the fittings. That is something I have had to deal with on my 98 V-90. All the hoses looked and felt good but I started getting seepage around where they slid over the fittings. As I started tightening the hose clamps I noticed that when I loosened the clamps that the hoses were big time loose on the fittings. The ends had stretched over time and no matter how tight the clamps were I still had leakage at the fittings. On mine all the hoses were factory Volvo and this seems to be something with the actual hose design used. Fooled me for a while in trying to stop the slight leakage. Replaced all the cooling system hoses and the seepage stopped.
