I threw this one in because it is condensed from a few other sources listed there and also has an oil analysis which shows the additive packages from Synthetic M1 vs regular mineral oil and decay rate. The BMW E46 link there also has some great info on that thread.

I say that because I see your an engineer and I am as well in a different field. I also get caught up in hours of research and see my life passing before me. I like to get quick reference material now and dig deeper once I find the item I'm truly searching for so I don't loose myself in reading.
