transmission cooler lines o-ring and clip

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Re: transmission cooler lines o-ring and clip

I did this on S80, V70 and V50 - all had two O-Rings per line - so 4 total. Order them on line as the dealer charged me something like $8 a piece. If your plastic clips survive removal they can be reused, but they do become brittle. Again if you order them all on line you can do it once and be done. Many places sell them, including dealer, - nothing magical.

I would make no assumptions what your mechanic did or did not do. It is a quick job to fix so just order the parts and replace. The lower one will be a bigger pain as it will leak when you pull the line, draining all fluid in the cooler. Get a helper - have a rag and gloved finger ready. Have helper plug hole with one gloved finger and other side with other gloved finger. Then use some common sense and work quick to minimize spill. Top off excessive fluid loss and you are done.
