What were you getting before the new plugs - and what condition were those old plugs in? I'd think it'd be pretty cool to see a real comparison between new NGK plugs with and without the sonic treatment...

In the mpg thread, I posted that I had achieved 26.3 and 27.5 mpg, previously. The Volvo platinums showed a good clean burn, but I have no idea how old they were. I'll continue to post my mpg's so that we can establish some kind of average. I should also mention that I live at 7400 ft elevation.

You wasted your money. Spark plugs are a passive device and while you may see small performance differences between brands, it is mostly in your head. A Bic lighter could just as easily ignite the fuel charge in your cylinder as a high dollar spark plug. The engine is designed to run on the factory spec plug and if there was a "magical" plug delivering radically improved mileage, it would be for sale in EVERY auto parts store in the universe as well as becoming the OEM plug for every manufacturer. Ask yourself this question: If you were this guy who invented the plug would you A. Sell it only in the deep dark bowels of the internet to only those few "elite" that found you? or B. Sell it at every Walmart, Auto Zone, Advance, and every other outlet known to man; all the while becoming ridiculously wealthy? Just a thought.
