Encountered the same strange thing today while replacing the PCV system.

I wonder if it's possible to connect the vacuum line directly to the vacuum tree and not using the metal line which goes on top of the motor. Is that possible and makes sense?

I would make sure you have the right parts per above. Changed first post thread title to warning on 1994 1995 PVC parts

Well, all the parts fit except this vacuum line. Shorten this line is not a big deal. The question is just if this loop through the top of the motor is needed or not or if I can connect this line directly to the vac tree.
Jblackburn mentioned in one of his post that people get rid of this steel pipe. Just want to double check on that.
