B5244T2 engine parts

Post by LSV70R »

Hello, I am brand new to this forum and in need of some help.

I recently bought a 2000 Volvo V70 R AWD and it spun a bearing shortly after I started driving it. I have pulled the engine and want to rebuild it. I'm having a very similar problem to alot of people in having trouble finding parts and information for my engine.

My engine is the B5244T2 engine which should be a 2.4T. Most websites and even shops I have called say that my car has the 2.3T engine but I think they must be mistaken. I'm looking to purchase a repair and service manual for this car but it seems like they all show 2.3T for the engines.

Does anyone know where I could find a good manual or how I can find exactly what parts I need? I am nervous to start removing the head and cams before I am sure that I will know how to properly rebuild it.

Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks,

Louis

Look on your timing belt cover for a sticker with the serial number and engine type.

Its also engraved on the block behind the cylinder head near the front of the exhaust cam
