Thanks for the reply,

The problem just came the other day. I will have to scan with VIDA next week and get back to you guys.

The problem is mostly at stop light going from 1st ---> 2nd gear (the 1-2 sec delay of acceleration).

Question: at red light with your foot on the brake pedal, what GEAR is the trans in: is it "0" or "1st" gear?

Hi everybody,

My 07 XC70 with 209k miles is showing the signs of this B4 servo cover issue (bad shifting between 2&3), except it doesn't make total sense for that to be the issue in my case. People say that only the earlier P2 models were affected by the B4 servo thing - not so much my model year - but also, my transmission is showing other symptoms:

Shifts are sluggish throughout all gears; there is a bit of a pause during shifts. Trying to use the "Geartronics"/manual-shifter feels awfully clunky for the transmission; the feeling made me afraid something bad was going to happen so I shifted out of it and haven't used it since. And, to speak to my 2-3 gear shifts, what I have noticed is that this particular shift seems to be really bad but only when going up steep hills. It's so bad, in fact, that when I'm trying to accelerate up such a steep hill, the shift from 2-3 tends to result in a loud *clunk/bang* accompanied by a lurch of the whole car (I don't think it has happened during any other gear change). The car shifts into what I presume to be "limp home mode", and a code appears in the computer proclaiming "excessive clutch slippage". If it would be any help in diagnosis I could share the code, but I wasn't able to find much based solely on that information.

Do y'all think this is a B4 servo cover issue, or what? Any insight would be appreciated.
