I'd like to thank everyone who helped on this thread.
My mechanic replaced the servo motor and my air conditioning has returned to freezing me out, in the car, while it's 110 degrees F outside.
What took so long was finding the servo motor. Apperently Volvo is no longer going to manufacture many of the parts on my model car.
Thanks again for all your help.

Hi Bill,
My flashing AC blue light code is 233. I did read you chart but what exactly is broken that needs to be replaced and where is it located? Thanks!

I just repaired my server motor that caused the same code on the ECC. The motor is located behind the glove box. Easy to get to. Take out glove box, then you can see the servo motor which is connected to a metal arm. Carefully unsnap the metal arm up from the white plastic holder tabs. There are two nut screws and an electrical connector to disconnect, then it comes out.

The servomotor can be opened. Just a few screws. Inside, I found a potentiometer that was dirty with some bent pins for the contacts. Closer inspection revealed that the “dirt” might have been the sticky black stuff that break down and comes out of the vents for a few years. This caused an obstruction which then led to bent pins. Cleaning the tracks and using tweezers, I was able to get the potentiometer working again. I tested the resistance at various positions and also tested the motor by putting some volts (less than 12) directly to it. Upon reinstallation, the only trick was getting the arm in the correct position when clipping it in should have marked it. But this can be adjusted. If you turn it on and move between hot and cold, you can observe where the arm moves and adjust accordingly. Anyway, I was happy that the ALPS servomotor used turned out to be a serviceable part. I’m so done with disposable culture which is one reason I love my 960 wagon!
