Thanks for the tip on being able to use a Group 49 instead of a Group 48 battery. The original equipment battery (Made in France) in my 2004 V70 was still operating fine but with winter coming I thought I'd be proactive for once and change it rather than getting stuck somewhere.

I got the Group 49 Sears Diehard Gold. It was $10 bucks more than the Group 48 but I think the extra 3" will give me some piece of mind and some more reserve capacity. It had a vent tube opening and all my cables fit fine. I wish all jobs were as easy as this one.
