Ha ha, that's funny, I just bought a new cupholder off him about 5 mins ago. I saw the bearings but I am going to cheap out and buy a pair for that price and keep them on the shelf until I get a real growl out of the existing ones.

It is certainly your choice.

El cheapo (no name) wheel bearing lasts about 20K give or take.
Volvo, SKF, Timken wheel bearing lasts some 150K.

You do the math!

Or more. My 850 now has over 230 k on it and I just replaced the first wheel bearing. Pretty impressive as as lifetime of the bearings.

Me personally, I stay away from the cheap stuff, it's just not worth it. You spend so much time fixing things and then you do it again in a year. There is nothing more frustrating in life than stuff that doesn't last. But that's just me.

OK, I was feeling seriously poor today. Wife just got a job so now I'll go full-boat good parts :-) I'm shopping for a Volvo for her now too, s60 probably but I'm hoping to convince her she'd love a 98 s70. At least I'd have a clue with that one. She'll have to let me get my Saffron V70R 6-speed though.
