Yep new gasket can't hurt, just make sure that both surfaces are free of old gasket.

As far as whether you should service the PCV and its influence on the throttle module; a dirty throttle bore will give uneven idle but it's unlikely you'll get throttle position codes as a result unless the bore is caked in crud. The other danger of a blocked PCV is blowing seals whether rear main (a real bear to do) or just cam seals. A $500 fee given the time involved is OK; just make sure they're using GENUINE parts.
My cleaning BTW didn't work and the one from FCP will be my customer's when it arrives.

man those Volvos are very temperamental, I was driving on a highway when the idling time started to act funny and you would feel those funny surges in the card as if someone was pressing the gas pedal back and forth...two weeks go by without any issues and without any warning lights then, all of the sudden at the stop light on green as I am trying to accelerate...wack...no power and the car would more like a turtle no matter how much gas I gave it, then I get the "Reduced Engine Performance" warning light. I turned off the engine then turned on and the reduced engine light disappeared and the "Engine Service Required" light came on but I was able to drive normally to the garage and told me the bad news about the Throttle Body

I was also told that I need my charging hose replaced because it's collapsing, would you know what is the part # for it or a picture of it's location so I can buy it?

Thanks

It's probably the elbow shaped hose around 10 inches long going from the intercooler at the front of the car (left side of radiator if you're looking down at the engine) to the long plastic hose which extends over the engine to the turbo.

The 2003 XC70 I was working on yesterday also requires this. They get very oil affected and will collapse as the turbo sucks in air.
