Morning,
Yes, I did see that Amazon sells them. At least they have good return policy if things go south. So with all those different version of VIDA, should one get the newest one, or is 2010 just as good for my V70 2001 model like Matt mentions? Looks like even for the newest versions, XP is the only option anyway.
Thanks,
Emil

@xHeart: I don't think the Amazon one is in any way official, someone just setup their shop name with 'VOLVO VIDA'. It's still a copied DVD in the photo for example. They are just jacking the price up by $200, and might even just order one directly to you from AliExpress.
Again just don't mark shipment as received until you test it. The money is automatically released too after some time so you've got to test it almost right away.
Note that Aliexpress is part of Alibaba - they are the largest e-commerce site in the world, bigger than Amazon in sales. It's not that popular here in NA (yet), but don't think it's some short-run thing.

I got a copy of VIDA 2012D up and running on my Windows 7 64-bit machine last night. Found out that the patch doesn't work right if you install on a external HHD so I had to redo it. I'll see if my DICE works when I get it in the next couple days. If you want to know where I got the VIDA copy send me a message.

Well my DICE came today, and so for not so good. I can't get the computer to recognize it. I've gotten it to say "USB device not recognized" but can't get past that
The COM port driver seems to be installed correctly. So, I might have a bad unit. I'm waiting to hear back from the people to see where we're going with this next.

Yes, it's not the one that came with the DICE though. I tried the DICE drivers from the VIDA I have installed (2012D), the disc that came with, and the latest from the Volvo site. Nothing is working.

You can down load the USB driver from the Volvo corporate site. I'll get a link up to it when I can. I don't think you've correctly loaded a driver because your computer sees the device.

Is there a driver other than the USB to COM port? That one seems to be functioning. I get a second item in the USB controllers section of Device Manager with a ! that says it's not recognized.

I also read that any update/patch to VIDA-DICE software requires a subscription of sorts, is this a fact?
