Thanks Mike! I see on ebay you can find either one for about 125ish. What would be the better choice? I figure I'd pay about 100 bucks to the dealer to reset it (once) but if I buy some scanner I can always re-sell it once I'm done...

I really like the Autel because it does things quickly.

Vida can take days to setup on a laptop and is picky with OS settings and supporting software that needs to be there.

There is another way which is to run it virtually with VMWare and just use the Dice along with that. There is a link on Matthews to download the whole 7GB image in 1GB chunks then piece it together.

I've got all 3 setups just in case.

The beauty of the Autel is it scans other makes as well and can be programmed to accept files for French, Japanese or domestic US makes.

The upside of Vida is that it communicates with ALL modules in the car such as BCM, power seat, RTI, climate and a host of others I don't recall. It also has hundreds of activations for testing individual components. It's VERY powerful.
