I'm having a similar problem to you, wondered if the fix was ever found, replaced my alarm siren about four years ago in the 2000 Volvo S 80, have a 4.7 amp draw with all the latches closed haven't started pulling things yet but I was hoping you might have found a solution to help me narrow down my search?
Thanks for any suggestions anyone might have.

Still having some sort of battery draw or alt problem , I latched all the latches, the Hood, door,etc, and let the car go to sleep and only found a 10 mA draw ( normal range), I tested the alternator and it seems to be putting out 14.? (Normal range) Volts so that seems OK. Any ideas?

I saw one person say something about something on the alternator going bad and causing the draw or the alarm battery going bad and causing a draw, Any input appreciated, thanks
