They must have changed where the oil drain plug is or I'm just dense, but I've always had to (or at least thought so) lay on my back and loosen and tighten the oil drain plug with my left (weak) hand/arm. Got used to it so no problem really. That's the side my oil filter is on too and since it's straight vertically mounted, the oil always drips on my hand as I unscrew the filter.. Let me know if I could have been doing the drain plug, at least, from the other side/ with strong arm all these years.
