Part number is 8251305 but you have to check fitment for TRW or other rack. Order by VIN

really a horrible job, esp with out a lift. You'll find out all the tools you dont have like crowfoot line wrenches, wobble socket extensions of many lengths. gear wrenches, ball joint presses, alignment machine, torch for stubborn tie rod ends, tie rod impact socket, sand blaster and paint for rusty hydraulic lines that 50/50 chance of breaking. etc. host of parts you didn't know you would break. I did it on my 850 without checking the internet or a manual by sliding it out the drivers side after losining the cradle bolts and removing the sway bar but I'm not recommending that. very tight access to the fluid lines. the fluid lines are the worst part of the job. dont forget to lock the steering wheel straight so you dont move it and take out the steering pinion to column bolt before dropping the cradle. You will have to remove all the intake hoses to get down there and need a gear wrench and some pain killer for your back and a flash lite.
I got a Rock auto rebuilt for 150. Looked like brand new, it must have been a very low miles take out accident part because after I installed it and spun the the imput shaft by pushing the tires, prior to hooking it to the column, I saw the input shaft was bent. start the job over and wait for the replacement and ship that one back at their expense.Thats why garages won't install rebuilt or won't warranty. week later the replacement is here and not beautiful like the first, but in it went and Ive been driving for a year on it. no core charge. I kept the original and maby will rebuild it but kits are not very forthcoming if they fit. Its usually only the tie rod seal that goes bad so maby can get a number off it. any how, to recap most people junk the car when the rack goes unless they really like it like I do. esp if they drove it for a while dry and ruined the pump.

Alldata reports 3.3 hours to replace rack on a P80. Probably add 2 for the first time in a driveway.

that ridiculous. it takes almost an hour to do an alignment in a real shop with moving the car on to the lift and off. a 25 year old car will have lots of rusted on or parts that break. maby a pro could do the job on a four year old car and skip the alignment in 3.3 hours. Just changing and burping the fluid takes half hour. count on day and a half if you dont have to wait for parts and all goes well if you haven't done it before. also like I said, there is about 40% chance you will do it twice with a rebuilt.
