There will be immobiliser mismatch codes when you scan the car with Vida/Dice. If the cam sensor is faulty there will be cam position codes in Vida.

If you turn the motor by hand with the 30mm nut on crank can you feel compression? Without compression you have a dead motor; no point in fault finding.

The immobilser stops spark.

I'm the eternal optimist but you should think about parting this thing out and finding a car that runs. You are going to have to risk some big dollars to get this car a chance of running.

This is not an 850 you can cobble together. All the modules have to be programmed to work together in software. Using another 2002 C70 module is a wrong part. The fact that someone disconnected an AC line and left it open to air means they had no clue about modern cars.

There is a way and it involves obtaining an entire set of modules from a (running) donor car. They can be had pretty cheaply.

Investing in a Vida Dice will save some heartache in matching firmware from the ETM which is simply a firmware match using the Network tab in Vida.

ECM, TCM, DIM, keys and immobilser module will be required. I'm not certain about the climate system module but it wouldn't hurt.

Just don't count on finding a way with the existing ECM.

Talked with the Mechanic who did the work last night. He told me that the ECU is the original one to the car. Assuming this is true, where can I go from here? I remember vaguely that when we purchased the car, the Cam. Position Sensor was giving fault codes. After taking a look, the wiring had been butchered to the sensor (wires were still making contact, but the senor looked like it needed replaced. There were wear marks on the very top of the sensor?). But this sensor was still working enough for the car to start and run. After ordering another sensor, we noticed that it was a completely different style (the original had some metal on its casing, as compared to the new one which was a completely plastic housing.) Which leads me to my questions,

Is there anyway to test the sensor to make sure that it is working correctly?
Is there an ECU pin-out schematic anywhere that I can use to ohm test the wiring harness to make sure there aren't any open wires?
What are some issues that would cause it to not spark?
What should be the next thing that I test?

If it comes to it, I'll take the plunge and get a Vida Dice, but I'd like to exhaust all other options prior to doing it.

New information came to light today while speaking to one of the Volvo Indies I do programming and throttle work for.
You say that the car will not turn over meaning that the starter solenoid is not being energized. Is this correct?

If so the antenna ring may have slipped around the key hole. This has happened to my local Volvo indie and he says he has had this phenomenon occur 3 times now (he's been repairing Volvos for 15 years)
A dab of 2 part epoxy on the fixture holding the antenna ring in place has fixed this issue and the starter will now energize.

If the car turns over and will not fire this does not apply to your problem.

I still think until you screen shot a VIDA showing your Key, ECM, CEM and immobilizer are all matched you will spend a lot of time/money at huge risk.

Does your mechanic have VIDA? If not, the correct ECU is unknown to him/her.
