Re: 98 s70 no start intermittently
Took that guy off and got some new clamps at napa. Couldnt see past the valve. So used a whole can on it and got it all cleaned up. Idles wayyy lower and drives a lot better. Fixed my stalling! Simple fix. Costs me 1.29 lol

Nice. Don't forget to tithe some portion of the 4 hours of labour at 110 USD per hour you saved to MVS....a shameless plug but not beneath me ...
You still might have an ignition switch problem, which is a 15 minute, 50 USd fix.

This reminds me, I've been meaning to ask. My idle is very steady but it seems high to me at about 950rpm. I don't have anything other than the stock tach to estimate, does anybody know what the factory idle should be?

On the same topic, after a PCV job, I attached the LOWER hose to the ICV but forgot to tighten the clamp!
Somewhere on the road, the engine stalled, restarted, stalled etc.
Long story short, the LOWER hose came loose! Tightened the clamp, all is good.
I think the ICV should be part of routine maintenance, i.e., every 40K-50K, take it out and clean. It is basically free, it costs you nothing (well, the cost of carb cleaner and that is it).

@ mecheng ...
I missed the fact that you have a t5.
They have lower idle than n/a models, around 800-850rpm with ac off.

And... I spoke too soon.
Here is exactly what happened. Drove 15 min to work. About 88 out. Got in a space and shut it off. And I wanted to put it back on so I restarted it and the car tried but didnt turn over and stalled. Then it would barley turn at all until I nailed the pedal and it started and the idle down was horrible it jumped 900 to 800 rpm in a second. Wasnt a smooth movement.
I am starting to suspect the crank position sensor
