I've replaced several of these in the last four years or so, zero issues with the SKF cam seals. Same on the axle seals.

To clarify my earlier statement, the person who sold me the seals in the SKF box intentionally put Elring seals in there, hoping I would not notice...but I did.
The same think happened to me last month on Amazon when I bought a front crankshaft seal for my 1971 triumph TR6. An SKF seal box with a National seal inside.

Sure, I think everybody got that, your post is clear. When others started discussing the durability matter I wanted comment on that too, it is good to know what people are finding.
Geez, now even when we try to buy the right part we can get cheated. Good on you for paying attention, and good cautionary note to all.

unfortunately the "bait and switch" is not always as it seems....even on the wholesale market i have encountered it many times. The story usually goes like this...swindler buys a cheap part from one vendor and an expensive one from another....installs the expensive part and returns the cheap part in the expensive box. The vendor taking the return does not thoroughly check the part and accepts the return...then that part gets restocked sold to someone.
Like i tell all of my guys, does not matter how well the package is sealed, open it and inspect it before you accept it....they know that if they install a bad part unless they can make an airtight case for it they will be eating the labor on the rework.

You are a glutton for punishment aren't you. I had a Spitfire for a very short time but I needed a daily driver and the synchros were more than I could deal with at the time. Triumph and daily driver didn't go together very well anyway so I bought a Porsche 914 which was pretty much like jumping out of the frying pan into the fire.
