Yes, I had learned through that experience.

I have photos, if no one minds.

Me too!

Although on earlier models, I'm not sure if you can swing the whole thing up like this with the fuel rail attached - I seem to recall that the fuel line connection is different when I did the job on a 94?

I do get your point Robert.

I did not know any different at first while doing the PCV and oil trap on my '93 as a complete Volvo newbie.
The last three times I was in that area, I was actually changing injectors.

I must add that it is so much easier to get at the manifold bolts without the fuel rail in the way.

I wish it was so easy. Have a plan before you take things apart. That is all.

There is a complete new idea for a thread. I'll post, possibly a comprehensive of "Not forgetting where this went/goes". Been there.

I usually cut that rubber fuel line and replace it. The 3" hide is past due replacement anyway.

On most of the cars there is a rubber fuel line on the passenger side of the rail that I cut so the manifold, rail and all can be lifted off the motor together. I believe it attaches tothe fuel pressure regulator. I replace it every time I do a PCV system replacement because the hose is usually hard and cracked anyway.

I know the one now.
Yes, the first time I had taken the manifold off the '93 Sedan that tube had basically fallen apart.

Yep, it's sometimes a source of fuel leaks when left alone for 20 years.
