'99 V70 Swapping Seat Cushions to Frame?

Post by E Showell »

Ok -- so the wife's V70 has leather front seat covers that are fairly well shot. I obtained a set of pick and pull seats and already swapped the driver's seat -- power for power -- totally plug and play.

I attempted the passenger's seat swap a while back, but we are swapping manual (existing) for power (junk yard seat). I got the circuit breaker and attempted to put it in the fuse box to no avail, notwithstanding all the appropriate wiring seemed to be in place. I did not rule out the fact that the passenger seat switch could have been broken.

Here's the question. Aside from swapping seat skins, is it possible to just swap the already upholstered seat bottom and seat backs between seat frames? In other words, can I just exchange the power seat cushions for the manual seat cusions and not care that the passenger seat remains manual, or is the only way to accomplish that swapping seat skins?

Would anything about how the seat heaters connect suggest this is not possible, if anybody knows?

not sure there are a lot of bolts on them that hold the two halves together. Don't forget there is an air bag in there too. In my c70 2000 I have a set of 99 seats I put in but both are electric.

seat heater in the seat has a connector that connects top and bottom cushions. it's inside one of the cushions. I forget which one.
