Yes they did, sorry for not mentioning that. I believe it was the right side (it was worse) that was causing the vibration.

Following up again on here. After getting some vibration and a noticeable "clunk" when shifting into gear, I thought I should check out the axles. I replaced my front brakes last night so had a chance to look at them and sure enough, they are worn out (noticeable play in the CV joints). The good news is they have a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty. They are almost 2 years old and have about 32k on them so we will see if Napa upholds the warranty.

Unless NAPA Warranty is unusual, such item is prorated, and NOT a full exchange.

Napa fully warrantied the axles. I got the new axles at no charge (I was charged for the new axles and a core but that was all credited when I returned the old axles).

Unless you are exceptionally lucky, you'll end up buying a new Volvo axle. It's in fact still a rebuilt axle, but a factory rebuilt.

Non-Volvo (well, GKN...) rebuilt axles are nowhere near "new" OE axle, which is still a rebuilt axle, but a quality one.

As long as they're willing to give me free axles when they go bad, it doesn't bother me! They are easy to change.

To start with, they are not as smooth as OE from the very beginning.

I disagree. If you want to pay $600/ea for new Volvo axles on a 13 year old car, be my guest. The original axles in this car only lasted 80k miles so that proves to me that they weren't that great to begin with. I will choose to pay nothing and spend an hour and a half every two years to replace these axles if that's what it comes to.
