Nice score from Geico!

With due space/time I would buy back at 550 in a heartbeat. Carcass is worth 500 in scrap so anything parted out is profit baby!!

I am sad to see a beautiful Nautic Blue Volvo go to her resting place though...

I think the engine bay on the 98 is way better, especially the valve cover. 99+ the cover looks generic

Is the V70 XC the precursor to XC70? Whats the difference?

Here are some choices I can look at. Thoughts?
98 S70 GLT turbo, $3995 137k sunroof
98 S70 GLT turbo $2999 116k sunroof
98 S70 GLT turbo, $2995 93k (why so many of these?)
1999 V70 $2695 143k
2000 V70 XC turbo $3500 95k ugly red
2002 V70 $3800 170k no sunroof or roof rack
2003 V70 $4000 127k

In looking into 1999, looks like they have the ETM failure problem. Is 1998 relatively immune to that?

The day before our S70 was mercilessly and randomly taken out, I was going to do the cracked solder fix on the ABS. I assume I'll have to do this on whatever car I get unless it was done?

Sheez the 2003 V70 in a heartbeat!!

Improved valve body making the transmission a reliable unit (finally) and if it's a non turbo you won't have turbo hoses, intercooler & various sensors as well as the plumbing to a turbo that can leak.

The throttle body will either be a Bosch or a Hitachi so all good there.

Called about the 2003. Something about pinhole leaks in oil pan, suckin air, CEL because of that. Was listed for 6k. Is that a common problem, and is the fix in the forums? reasonable to do?

Totally immune, since the don't have ETMs.... :D

I guess a frustrated 1999 owner might throw one at you as you drive by...
