What about the guy that flowed a pound or so of solder over all of the joints and turned the entire module into a giant short circuit? That was the one where I just shook my head.

The holy ABS unit with 2 holes drilled in it when there are at least 25-30 other joints that require attention is quite a comical one; not to mention that the technique retains old solder on the joint mixed with new. If anyone is even remotely familiar with soldering practice that is a no-no as you aren't providing enough flux for the amount of solder on the board. Like all metals reheating causes weakness and inability to shrink and expand repeatedly.

Long term adhesion to the copper track below will be much lower than if the joint were solder sucked with a machine or with solder braid and then re soldered with all-new solder.

That was one of the funniest things I've seen yet.

I get tons of them in that were fixed "at home". I'll say that most people do not know how to solder.

When I was in high school we HAD to take shop and they taught us how to solder and basic electrical theory. When I was in school for HVAC it was all electrical classes and we had to do tons of pcb repairs even though they are throwaway parts.
