2000 s70 wont crank. replaced starter. Advice Please

I tried it both ways ....in my particular case i got nothing....I believe with the key on and and jumping (#50 and +30 per your diagram) should start the vehicle....unfortunately i got nothing ...leading me to believe my GUARANTEED bench tested starter was a dud LOL
