The Compressor does continue to come on, so the charge must not be totally gone, I didn't look to where the line goes through the firewall. I'll have to look around for that. I do think that there must be pressure still in the system, so hopefully that should keep the system from developing any corrosion.
Thanks.

You will be okay. If you can keep using it, Freon will keep dispersing the PAG oil and keep things lubricated. If the system gets empty, then humid air gets into everything and it gets ugly.

The reading on those gauges have gotten a lot of people into trouble. The only way to get good data is with the system equilibrated, blowing cold, and compressor cycling to maintain air temp in cabin.

A pressure reading with the AC off is meaningless - it can be anywhere from 20-80 psi on a good system.

I looked up torques for my 2005 in Alldata and there was a funny one for the upper receiver/drier bolt
6NM, then loosen 90 degrees.

We just took the car out and the air is not cold now. Weather apps are putting the outside air at 91. The system isn't changing the temp. I do notice a slight hiss or compression sound through the vents. I expect that the high pressure side of the system is releasing to the low pressure side ? I decided to not have the air on in case that might retain the 134a longer.
Running errands and in the mix is going to Volvo to check on O ring and their opinion of the bolt threads. I don't believe I tightened it enough to hurt it, but who knows?

Well, ordered the O ring from Volvo. It will be in on Friday.
If that doesn't do it, then the pipe that the bolt goes into can be ordered separately. We'll wait and see.

You will have to open up, install Oring, then get it pumped out and recharged.

Picked up the O ring from Volvo today and opened up the bolt this evening. The old one certainly had taken a hit when I originally loosened the bolt.
original O ring that took the pressure.

The new ring fit well and the bolt tightened nicely. I recharged the system with a small 12oz can of 134a, but need to get more as it looks like the system should have a 35oz capacity. Hopefully, when the pressure is up to where it should be there will be no evidence of any leakage.

1.0 kg charge on the P2 cars, and I don't think there was a cold climate increase on the chart but I will check

On edit 1 .0 kg up to 2004, then 700 g from 2005 on for V70

Running the numbers through a converter, it looks like 1kg is about 35oz, if that's true, then I should be fine getting a couple more 12oz cans and not have much left over. I'm not sure how long a partial can be stored with just the gauge and connector attached.
I can get the 134a with dye at Napa. If the prior refrigerant didn't leave any detectable dye, it would be nice to have the dye to be sure that the connection is solid.
I did notice that there is accessibility to the bolt without having to remove the air dam, so at least I should be able to leave it on this time.

Did you pull a vacuum on the system?
It looks like you lost oil too. The oil will need to be replinished. You could do that with an oil charge can that has 2 oz oil and 2 or 4 oz refrigerant as you fill it after evacuation.

I didn't use a vacuum on it. I missed that step. Would the oil go in the same port as the 134a? How important is it to pull everything out? Would this be something that should be done at a shop? I see that the Volvo dealer has a current special that would evacuate and recharge, as well as check for leaks for 90.00. Does anyone know if this is a reasonable price?
