Hey 98v70...Southern cars are definitely less prone to corrosion issues andit sure makes bolt removal a lot easier too. I would suspect that electrical connections etc. last longer too. Most cars in the rural south have a pretty easy life. Not a lot of hard city stop and go driving...not many mountain climbs either! LOL.
Most of my driving is on the highway...hence the high mileages.
How many miles can a V70 go?

Here in South TX corrosion is not an issue. If these buggies would go to 500k we will likely be ready to give up our driver's licenses before then anyway.

I've got about 180,000 on my 1999 V70 Base. Runs perfectly and is in great shape. I have no reason to think it won't go another 100k.

It all comes down to how long you want to maintain it.

Both Volvos I've owned needed rear main seals when I bought them (at 125k and 160k miles), and both have experienced leaking steering racks since that time. Other than that, it's been small stuff, and regular maintenance. I have patched the stock exhaust on the '98 V70, but it's still original, which is amazing considering the salty Canadian winters it's been exposed to since new.
