Volvo stealership says it's the postive battery terminal not carrying 12volts.
The positive cable HAS been a problem with some 850s and S70s.
It's a couple of hour job, everything has to be removed to get at the complete line, but this IS possible.
Have a GOOD mechanic, ANY mechanic, this does not have to be a Volvo mechanic ,(I'm sure you can find one somewhere  ), do a battery voltage check, throughly clean the terminal posts and make sure that there is no loose cables anywhere

all that was done w/Volvo...but I will double check about the ground checking just to be sure....Yeah I find it odd they think detected the battery cable now..and not earlier...but what do I know...if this craps out again....I am still debating on this

We don't have any of these electrical shops that you speak of.

Would you bring it back to Volvo dealership..OR bring it the private Volvo/Saab mechanic?????????...I think the guy is even swedish, last name Svensson..accent too....I have always had more confidence in them at times, meaning foreigners on foreign cars that is..Not always...but in my experience all the foreigners did a better job on the Saab I owned. Though my parents had agreat success w/some Americans too..but that was in another part of the USA too far to travel.

I always go to independents. Dealers are noted for high prices/poor service. I find the independents need your custom - and your recommendation - so will try to do a better job every time.
