No, the sled was born in Aug. 1997 as a "1998".

These hardly ever go bad but if they do, it's one of those "scratch your head moments and the fan doesn't work...Okay, enough said. Just PM me if you need one- even if you read this 2 years from now- I'll probably still have at least one of these left and will send it to you for the cost of shipping.
I may take you up on that....if it doesn't truly have "power resistors". Mine is the electronic version, with a switching xnstr, probably a MOSFET. I'll have to light up the oscilloscope and check it when driving the motor load.

Update:

Found plenty of hits in all the usual places. Lots of used ebay sellers etc. but that's very iffy. The one Volvo yard I know about in Austin, won't let you PNP: They warehouse it and price accordingly, with no to little warranty.

Took the motor to a local old-school shop that has catalogs & lots of AC/Delco stuff, but the number didn't come up. So the guy thumbed through a 4-Seasons catalog, looking for something close. Turns out they have a matchfor a NEW assembly:

Image

Amazon sells them here from Midwest Auto: 4-Seasons Blower for $69.

Also found this from 1A Auto. Looks like the same part, but with a lifetime warranty.

I like the new construction, lifetime warranty and reasonable price. Not sure where they're made however.

UPDATE:

1A Auto imports these from overseas, has them made for them. I have 60days to return it for a full refund. After that, it's new part....for life! At least they're willing to back their imports with a lifetime warranty....beats 30 days!

AutohausAZ's URO motor is $121 with a 24-month warranty.

I didn't like what I read on Midwest Auto's fine print. Rather restrictive to say the least.

Local shop with the 4-Seasons catalog didn't have this one in stock and said it was a "special order".

Notice that the commutator has been severely reduced in diameter where the brushes made contact. Compare & contrast to the untouched copper just to the left. This one is Tango Uniform.

Here you can see just how short the brushes are. This motor finally failed on Sat. I pulled it today, applied power from my bench supply and it wouldn't spin. Measured winding resistance through the outside terminals at 70 Ohms. Way too high. It hung in there for 19yrs though...being nearly constantly on in CenTx Heat & Humidity! So I can't fault the motor, nor Delco at all. It's just flat worn out from use.

Wow- truly Delco....but the Volvo ones will fit too, I'd venture to bet! A junk yard with plenty of 850's up to '00 S/V/XC70 should work (at least it looks like it)!! See if you can't source one unless you've already sprung for the one in the pictures.

I called Autohaus to see if they carried the "motor core" for this "flanged" style. After being on hold for 10min., I had to go. Unfortunately, the Bosch version referred to earlier wouldn't have fit.

I did make some calls & do some searching for local salvage yards. Pleased to have found more than one with compatible parts. Not sure if 2000 year will fit, but I do plan on making a visit. Found an ECC for $30, but not sure if it actually works or not. Another yard wanted $85! One wanted $30 for the blower, another $45! I'd rather spend $70 and get a fresh motor + a lifetime warranty, so that's what I did.

I'll report back when it comes in. I'll want to burn it in on the bench first anyway.

Update:

UPS delivered the new blower motor this afternoon. Very well done. Pulled the plastic cap off the motors rear and noticed a SEALED BEARING instead of a cheap bushing!! I'm liking that! Not sure about the front though. Can't see up there. I plugged it in to the wiring harness, slid the control over and it immediately sprang to life. Went to MAX and it moves LOTS of air. The squirrel cage is well balanced as I noticed no vibration at all. I let it run for about 5 minutes before installing it and noticed no smell, heard no sparks, saw no debris either. 1A Auto claims everything is burned in and I believe it.

Installed it. All holes line up. There's even a ridge for holding the bent, white tube wire harness + a hole for the large grey connector that mounts on the right hand side. IOW, it's a perfect fit! Moves LOTS of air when installed as I fitted a clean, new cabin air filter as well.

So glad too as the sled has been wearing me out lately with all the work. Old Volvo syndrome has set up shop, throwing me sliders, curves, knuckles and straight HEAT! I need a break!!

Still a bit more to go however: Crank motor mount has collapsed. Will pick up a new one tomorrow. The two hydraulic mounts are now 19 years old and probably collapsed given the vibration, the rear drvr wheel bearing sounds dry and I need to get the rear vibration at 64mph sorted. The pass. side outer CVT boot I replaced last year is already torn (Conti/Rein. Will replace with GKN). Also need to fix the ECC unit (drvr temp motor driver ckt. only swings half the voltage required). I also need an alignment. The end is near however!

Thank God I've been able to fix everything myself rather than pay someone else to do it! The good news is it's ALMOST done AND the AT-205 has completely stopped the leaking PS rack! I haven't added ANY fluid at all since I flushed it. I'm truly amazed: That stuff actually WORKS!
