2007 XC90 "slow down or shift up"

This message is usually due to the coils. Somewhere in the forums, someone mentioned that a bd t-stat on a 3.2 isn’t immediately obvious but stops the flow of coolant around the cylinders resulting in overheating of coils. The digital needle stays center. It’s worth checking out.
