Anybody ever trying replacing the rack seals in situ (i.e., in place)? If so, tips/tricks?

I recall reading a how to somewhere on someone replacing the end seals in the rack in situ. This has some helpful info but for only one side:

That has some of the same info and links, but it would appear one side can be done in situ but to do the other the rack has to come out.

There are write ups on MVS for rack replacement for a V70 somewhere.
