Well, I have worse news now. After attempting to get to work the car started to rough idle while driving. I could fee the car start to stagger some ,similar to when the AC kicks in but more frequent and harder. I got it to limp along by keeping the RPM's up until I could get to an off ramp and check what was going on. As soon as it got under 1K RPM it started to vary wildly and then died. I went around the car and did an quick visual inspection and didnt see anything wrong. When I check the oil, there was only about a 1/2 of an inch showing on the dip stick. I waited a few minutes and checked again with the same results. I had a slow oil leak previously, but only a few drops week kind of a leak, so this was very unusual. I got a ride to town and bought some oil to top it off with. When i started it, it acted the same as before but threw these codes: P1238 and P0300. I will say it did sound like a miss fire, but the other code didn't make sense. One guy I talked to said that it could be the seal on the throttle body that is letting oil through and clogged the spark plugs. I dont know if that sounds right or not, but it would make sense since it was the last thing I touched. I got the car towed to a mechanic that we used for this volvo before, so now i'm just waiting to hear back from him.
I dont know if this is related, but the cruise control stopped working as well when i was getting it to limp along.
Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Heat issues... I think

The oil level wouldn't have anything to do with this; as long as the level is between the min and max mark its correct. I don't know if that's half and inch or not but just check the markings.
There's no oil that can get in because of a bad gasket at the throttle body; air certainly but not oil.
It's either an air metering/vacuum leak problem or a fuel delivery issue from the sound of it. I'm curious what your mechanic has to say.

The MAF was a BOSH I believe.
So the car died on the way to work and wouldn't come back. I had to have it towed to a near by mechanic who did a diagnostic and said that the throttle body is throwing out a hard fault. He's recommending me to take it to a local dealer and get the throttle body replaced. So that will probably run me about $1k and the car is maybe worth $1.5k so I wont be doing that. Right now we have plans to get it back home and I"ll open up the throttle body and see if i cracked the magnet. If that's the case i'll order a new one and try again. I'm hoping that I didn't fry a board with the soldering iron, but that's unlikely since my soldering iron is pretty wimpy.
The mechanic is also saying that the turbo is starting to get some wear and that's likely where the oil went. He's saying it's not bad, but should be monitored.
