Ah, of course the VS guys figured it out, they're the tech guys in the Volvo world. But I wouldn't doubt that it won't work properly, I am moderately knowledgeable when it comes to computers, and I couldn't figure it out. I went through two adapters, one from eBay and one from BestBuy. I had the proper drivers and the scanner was on the right port, Vol-FCR just wouldn't connect properly. I've been running a USB VAG-COM cable since then, and it's been great.

The serial -USB requires the USB to be found on a specific com-prot.

So yes it will work but com1 needs to be forced on the adaptor.
