Ok - got a better look tonight. I've driven the car a couple of days and the leaking coolant (with dye) has had opportunity to show.
It appears at the back passenger side of the engine, drips down onto the sub frame. At first I thought it was the water pump, it's in the back corner of the TB cover - but no direct path from the water pump. Also appears at the thermostat and the upper hose off the expansion tank. It is also splashed a little on the alternator.
So - I think it is leaking back behind the back timing belt cover then dripping down onto the sub frame. I looked all around the water pump with the upper TB cover off and don't see any signs of leaking, also nothing at the weep hole.
Has anyone seen a leak like this from thermostat going behind TB cover?
Thanks for all the tips.
Mike

Here is a picture of the leak behind timing belt cover - a bit hard to see but it is a little right of center in the photo. This is looking down on timing belt & water pump gear. The fluorescent drip shown is in the pocket of TB cover where the tab from front cover fits when you slide it into place. That area of the cover is below the pump but not accessible to the pump if I'm seeing it correctly - hard to tell from above.
Thanks
Mike
