Is this the end? 98 S70 T5 knocking noise

When a lash adjuster fails on these can it vent enough oil to result in an oil pressure issue? OP mentioned it's taking longer for his oil light to go off when he starts it.

Cmblackburn I still think you should try replacing the sump O-rings. But for the sake of gathering information:
Where did the replacement head come from? Low mileage used or rebuilt? If rebuilt who/where?

The sump o-rings is such a common problem, and fits the perceived symptoms well including lifter noise ... If they haven't been replaced they are almost certainly at least part of the problem. E.g. you can hardly bother to speculate any other reason for the oil light at this point.

I pulled the head off of a running '98 V70XC with 82k miles and had it resurfaced and new valve stem seals installed at my local NAPA, they did a great job with it. Engine ran perfectly in the car I yanked it from- was in the junkyard because the elderly owner died and it had no title.
