It has an XoMODeX throttle body but I guess the plate can be sticking. I'll have to clean that next time I see the car.

I know Robert DIY... and I'm no Robert DIY. Probably not qualified to even suggest a diagnosis for a Robert DIY car...
But I will throw a wild guess that it could be hairline broken solders in the fuel relay causing intermittent issues.
