96 850 turbo #5 misfire

All five injectors do NOT fire at the same. You never hear of a firing order?
There are five injector control lines from the ECM, one for each injector.
Spark is timed, fuel is not. As mentioned already these cars use batch injection. You can prove it to yourself by pulling the fuel rail and starting the car. You'll see that all the injectors fire at the same time.

Hi all. Problem solved! after going through the suggestions you all gave one of the mechanics decided to run a smoke test. As soon as it started, smoke started appearing from under the intake. It turned out I blew out the intake gasket at #5 cylinder. I was surprised as I had used the OE gasket from the IPd Oil Separator kit. Looking at replacements, the FelPro appeared to be better quality with a silicone seal around each intake hole. After installing and giving a good clean to the throttle body, the light was reset and the engine is acting like it's shed 100,000 miles! Interestingly the burning smell that had been in the engine compartment every time I stopped is now gone as well. I want to thank you all for the help and great suggestions. This is a great community.

FelPro is good stuff, worth the extra cost.

My father use FelPro for 50 years, he did automotive repair for a living. In all that time he had only one defective FelPro gasket, it was not cut correctly, a production hiccup that slipped past. He figured the time and labor not lost replacing defective or failed gaskets more then paid for the extra cost.
